Ties That Bind

The finished quilt will have sashing between the sets with alternating nine patch blocks. Jo Morton's new book "Vintage Journey" has a picture of the quilt...she has titled her's "Kindred Spirits". I had the best time playing with all the blocks ... and what a great feeling it was to finally be working on this quilt! Now it's time to sew...

In November 2007, my DH and I renewed our wedding vows. For our "Guest Book", I sewed signature blocks together for everyone to sign. I planned on making a "Ties That Bind" quilt from the blocks. Lots of months have flown bye and finally I am getting around to making that quilt. Pictured here are the blocks in their "semi permanent" positions. All fabrics are from various collections from designer Jo Morton.

My Rose Garden

More roses in front of our home...red, yellow, lavendar and peach. Beautiful when in full bloom!

Roses in the patio...they are gorgeous! There are about 15 or more blooms on the one rose bush alone...absolutely beautiful!

First Bloom

First bloom of the season...my DH brought this in for me from our patio and I thought I would share it with all of you! It's the most beautiful color of peach. And if you look real close in the picture you will see my grandson, Austin...life is Good!

We're Only a Phone Call Away...

The only good that has come out of a mishap with the US Postal Service is that I was able to talk with my dear friend Rosa in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

This was the first International call I have ever made. Wow...I was really excited and then when Rosa answered the phone I got goose bumps! She has such a sweet voice with the cutest French accent! I can't wait to meet her in person this coming October.

And tomorrow I will be speaking with her again! Even from a bad incident, God gives you a silver lining...life is good.
